Compared to the gear of other sports, fly fishing
gear has changed very little over the years. Yes,
everything is a little different and perhaps even a little
better -- some rods are made from lighter and stronger materials,
waders are warmer and more waterproof, etc. -- but for the
most part, fly fishing gear is not so different today from
